Blue Crabs win Crabs Champions League Final

🏆⚪️🔵 Pulteney is once again blue! 🔵⚪️🏆

Congratulations to the Blue Crabs who took out the third annual Crabs Champions League with a 5–2 victory over the Orange Crabs last night at Stadia D'Crab.

After a Steely warm-up, the Blue and Orange coloured Crabs launched into the first ever Crab Champions League Grand Final playoff.

It was tightly contested early, with goals hard to come by. At half time scores were level 2–2 and it looked destined to be a nail-biting finish. But it was in the third quarter that the Blue Crabs took hold of the game, whipping in another 3 goals before the end of the match to win their third CCL title in a row.

Can anyone stop the Blue juggernaut? We’ll find out next summer!

The real winner

More important than the after game beers, the Crabs Champions League has helped the committee achieve real club objectives, which include:

  • Giving existing Crabs the opportunity to keep fit over summer

  • Retaining existing players by keeping them connected to the club

  • Strengthening club-wide bonds between existing players

  • Giving new players an immediate entry into football at Pulteney

Everyone who was there last night to witness the huge turnout can give testament to this. So thanks to all who competed, we’ve all earned a solid W. Bring on the winter season!
